For the artist's interview in June 2018 by les Sentiers de l'Imaginaire (Site web SDI), to the question about his interest for cats, cf his album Sa majesté de nulle part and his gracious watercolour illustrations, he answers:
I have always loved drawing cats. And when I stayed a long time alone in Paris, notably in 2002, my cat painter character was born. He was a bit sad, romantic, little bluesy, lonesome in the town of Love. A cat walking a lot, drawing, dreaming and falling in love with a dream. My cat painter, it is myself !
